A daytime disco series spearheaded by local legend Vicky McClure could rock Derby in the near future.
Vicky may be well known for her stellar acting achievements, however her recent off-the-telly moves are also being praised.

Hide AdNot content with being a critically acclaimed actress - her trophy cabinet is bulging with BAFTA, TV Choice, and TV Times awards - she can add ‘Changemaker’ to her already illustrious CV.
She has galvanised a movement of middle-aged people, and those who want to enjoy clubbing minus the unsocial hours, with great success.
She has co-organised, along with her husband Jonny Owen and other creatives, a string of daytime clubbing gigs.
They typically run from 3pm till 8pm, giving people the chance to enjoy dancing the day away and be home in time to watch the Euros.

Hide AdThe actress has also catapulted the topic of struggling nightclubs into the mainstream narrative.
The Day Fever events are thought to have helped nightclubs hit hard during the pandemic, to create an extra source of revenue.
Venues frequently get sold out shortly after announcement of a fresh date, with Rock City Nottingham reportedly attracting 1,800 daytime revellers on Saturday June 15, 2024.

Hide AdNow Vicky is on the lookout for Derby venues to host the Derby leg of Day Fever.
During a BBC Radio Derby interview, she was quizzed about the lack of Derby presence on her Day Fever city list.
It turns out Vicky is keen to hold a Day Fever event in Derby.

She said: “We need a [Derby] venue because we need people to get in touch and offer us up what they’ve got and what they think will work well for Day Fever.
“Let us know Derby, what [have] you got? Get in touch!”

Hide AdWhere could Day Fever come to Derby?
People have mentioned a number of Derby venues that they think could be great for Derby Day Fever.
They include The White Horse, Bess of Hardwick, Bustler Street Food Market, The Hound Dog, Tiger Bar, St. Peter’s Church Yard, Derby Library, Derby Arena, Derby Velodrome, The Blue Note, The Roundhouse, Blacksmith’s Yard, University of Derby, Derby Conference Centre, The Hairy Dog, The Old Bell Hotel, Déda and Amalfi White.
The ambitious actress said she was ‘confident’ about filling up the venue.

She added: “I have no doubt about filling it. I know Derby likes a day out, so I’m sure we’ll be fine.

Hide Ad“It can be anything. Jonny’s going to a venue tomorrow which [houses] about 350, and we’ve had Rock City which is 1,800, so anywhere in that ballpark is good for me.”
