The Duncombe Arms in Ellastone, just 40 minutes away from Derby, has been named as one of the top restaurants for its outdoor dining offers.

OpenTable, an online restaurant reservation service, announced the pub in its Top 100 Restaurants for Outdoor Dining in the UK for 2024.

James is general manager at The Duncombe. Speaking to DerbyWorld today (Monday June 17, 2024) about what the accolade means to him and the pub, he said: “It's really nice to have the space recognised by OpenTable.

“They are well respected. We get thousands of people booking through OpenTable, so it feels great.

“It’s an amazing space, we just need a bit more sunshine!

“The pub has an incredible view, it’s a dreamy pub garden!”

The annual list highlights diners’ favourite spots offering delicious food at alfresco hotspots nationwide.

Venues are particularly celebrated for being dog-friendly.

People can tuck into dishes such as fresh pea and asparagus quiche, Cornish brown crab crumpet, black garlic barbeque sauce glazed pork belly, carrot tarte tatin and more.
