We tried a few food and drink items but it was one in particular that really rocked our world!

The summer season officially kicks off on June 20, you wouldn’t know it with the crazy weather of late.

200 Degrees has launched its new summer menu and Derby World was invited to try it out.

First off, 200 Degrees is an independent coffee roastery and coffee shop.

You will probably recognise its fashion-forward trademark, of golden swirly calligraphy emblazoned on their signage.

The popular coffee house has several locations in the region including cafés in Nottingham, Birmingham, Leicester, Sheffield, Manchester and more.

We were excited to try the exclusive first look, brand-new summer menu.

This includes five specialty iced drinks including Iced Spanish Matcha, Vegan Salted Caramel Affogato, Dirty Iced Oat Chai and Mango & Peach Iced Tea.

Things are just as exciting on the food front. The food offering has undergone a complete upgrade and is packed with intriguing items.

Ciabatta sandwiches include Chicken & Pesto, Brie & Chorizo, Pulled Pork Cheddar, and Red Pepper Hummus.

I tried a few drinks and a sandwich, as you can see from the video, my personal favourite was the Red Pepper Hummus ciabatta.

Punchy pickled fennel elevated the sandwich from good to ‘I can eat this all day’, which is why I am already looking forward to eating this again.

I really enjoyed Mango & Peach Iced Tea, which has ‘summer’ written all over it.

The Iced Spanish Matcha will no doubt have its fans and is one for those who dig the earthy notes of matcha.

The sweet stuff is jaw-droppingly good

I packed some desserts to go so I could taste them over the weekend which led to a discovery - they would make perfect picnic treats or desserts if you’re hosting a party or soirée.

Lemon Yuzu Tart had a lovely citrus hit and is the perfect partner to an iced tea.

Lemon & Pistachio Blondie was wonderfully squidgy.

What I really loved about this, is that pistachio and lemon are two flavours that I have never seen together before. Hats off to the development team for creating an avant garde flavour profile.

I enjoyed Raspberry Milk Cake whose light-as-air sponge, and pretty jumble of edible flowers made this item a personal favourite I enjoyed Raspberry Milk Cake whose light-as-air sponge, and pretty jumble of edible flowers made this item a personal favourite

Raspberry Milk Cake was almost too pretty to eat, its frosting was dappled with pretty flowers.

Its sponge was light and flecked with ripe raspberries, making the cake even more deliciously moist.

I slung the Kinder Creme Cookie in the microwave, which made the inside a little gooey and all the more scrumptious.

200 Degrees Coffee is more than just a coffee shop.

Its latest summer offering which happens to be really strong, means it is an eatery and patisserie all rolled into one.

A special shout out to General Manager Dale and the team who made my stay there so very welcome.
