The shop has made itself a home in various locations across the city in previous years including Derby Market Hall.

Its most recent incarnation was on Sadler Gate where it set up a café on the first floor of Derby Heritage centre, opening its doors on February 10, 2024.

The shop’s closure was announced by the business on Instagram. It wrote: ‘Sadly, we have some news about our café.

‘Due to plumbing issues with the downstairs loos at 11 Sadler Gate, our kitchen and café is no longer available without investment and has become financially unviable for us.

‘I've absolutely loved being back and getting to see you all and meeting new faces has been an absolute pleasure, but have to announce that our café will remain closed.

‘We won't be reopening the space as planned for the remainder of our 6 month residency.

‘Fresh pyclets will still be delivered to Derby Heritage Centre who remain downstairs and will soon be stocking our entire range in a dedicated downstairs freezer alongside the fresh deliveries.

‘You can still buy from us online and at Duffield Dairy on the weekends. We are also still looking for more stockists so please do feel free to get in touch.

‘Many thanks for your custom. It has been fantastic and we hope to keep on feeding you pyclets into the future.

‘We will still be outside for Celebrate Sadler Gate too. Also we are still available to book to cater local weddings and events and local and national delivery is still available from our website.’

The owner is keen to stress that they will continue to make and sell pyclets which can be bought from the Derby Heritage Centre and ordered online.
