New B&M store to open inside former Wilko unit in Derby this summer

Shoppers seeking bargains in Derby are in for a treat as a new B&M store is set to open in Derby.

B&M is one of the country’s leading bargain variety stores selling everything from suitcases, perfumes, garden furniture and plenty more in between.

The Derby city centre opening will make it the sixth store in Derby.

It will launch in the coming weeks, says Derbion, one of the city’s top shopping centres.

The new store, located on London Road will be at the site of the former Wilko unit which has been closed since October 2023.

The new B&M store will offer shoppers a wide variety of bargain branded products across groceries, homeware, toys, health and beauty, DIY and beyond.

B&M will be the latest retailer to join Derbion’s mixed-offering scheme. It will cater for all budgets, with brands ranging from everyday value and high street stores to premium retailers.

The arrival of B&M marks Derbion’s latest new brand following the opening of Ann Summers’ enhanced store last month.

White Stuff is also set to open later this month.

Derbion’s B&M announcement follows the news that more than £5m is reportedly being invested in three major new concept stores for JD, New Look and Ann Summers.

JD is thought to be more than doubling the size of its existing store to a 20,175 sq ft space opening in Q4 this year.
