A free music event celebrating a variety of cultures is set to take place at Normanton Park this weekend.

The World Music Festival promises to give attendees an ‘experience of a fusion of cultures’ to celebrate the musical diversity of Derby.

Saturday August 19, 2023, from 1pm till 7pm.

Normanton Park, Warwick Avenue, Derby DE23 8DA

What is the cost to enter World Music Festival?

It is free to attend, however booking is required.

Who will be performing?

The event will showcase performances from diverse communities including Derby homegrown talent. Here is the full breakdown.

Ghana: Chupa

Sudan: Oma G, Yasir

Roma: Darusko Band, Jozef

Nigeria: D-Romola, Kelvin Ossai, Pheenix

Kurdish, Persian and Turkish: Babak Aria

There will also be community performances on the evening from Raphael Tate, DJ Nocturnal Joe and Luke Lexu, Truant, Infinity Flow and more.
