The spring market follows the wildly successful night market last year

A collective of independent businesses has announced a date for its spring market.

This means there is another chance - for people who were unable to make the debut Love Sadler Gate Night Market last year - to come out and support local businesses.

It is more than just helping bolster the local economy, people can also have a great time in one of the city's top, beautiful cultural hotspots.

Love Sadler Gate aims to create a vibrant environment for both traders and shoppers alike.

It accomplishes this through community-led seasonal markets, by platforming independent businesses in and around the Sadler Gate area in Derby city centre.

When is Love Sadler Gate spring market 2024?

The Sadler Gate spring market is set to take place on May 4, 2024. 

Announcing the date on social media, the group is now on the lookout for traders to participate in the market. 

Organisers of the market wrote: ‘Our Love Sadler Gate events are all about celebrating the heart and soul of our iconic street, and we're on the lookout for amazing individuals who want to be part of something special, connect with our community, and make a real difference.

‘So whether you're a talented craftsperson or food artisan with unique creations to sell at our markets. A local business eager to sponsor an event, or simply a friendly and enthusiastic individual willing to get stuck in and volunteer their time, then please get in touch.’

The Love Sadler Gate Night Market in November 2023 was a hit with locals, which saw the entire Sadler Gate street packed with busy traders and excited shoppers.

Looking at this event, people can expect food and drink, artisan stalls and creative makers selling one-of-a-kind, handmade gifts.

Upcoming events in Derby 2024

The group teased an exciting roster of events they have planned for the coming year. 

There is a Real Ale and Food Festival, Celebrate Sadler Gate event, Night Market and Victorian Christmas Market.
