Sightings of little ghost children and eerie hauntings are common at one of the most haunted places in Derbyshire

Expert ghost hunters will be descending upon Derbyshire for a night out with a spooky twist.

Poole’s Cavern, considered to be one of the most haunted places in Derbyshire, will be subject to a paranormal investigation this summer.

The event is being organised by Brooke’s Paranormal, who conducts spooky tours across the East Midlands and the rest of the UK.

The exclusive event is being held in partnership with the Buxton Civic Association.

Don’t be fooled by the idyllic setting of Poole’s Cavern in the sleepy spa town of Buxton.

The jaw-dropping natural limestone cave is said to be over 2 million years old - with more than a few stories to tell.

Owing to the cavern’s ancient timeline - there has been human activity on the site since the Stone Age - it is widely considered to be one of the Seven Wonders of the Peak District.

It may be an unsuspecting tourist hotspot, however it has welcomed thousands of visitors since Victorian times.

One spooky story that is guaranteed to give you goosebumps involves tourists being abandoned by unscrupulous guides in the deep caverns unless they parted with all their money (needless to say this happened hundreds of years ago).

Are you game to spend your evening in complete darkness inside the labyrinth cave network?

Its dark and mysterious history has led to reports of shadowy figures, hauntings, whispers when nobody is actually present, and apparitions of little ghostly children.

It could be a great night out for those who may be curious about what’s on ‘the other side.’

Brookes Paranormal say they aim to create a fun and safe, albeit spooky night for you.

Experience Poole’s Cavern with exclusive access after dark as you edge your way through eerie rooms searching for ghostly spirits hidden in the bowels of the cavern.

You will investigate various rooms including the Great Dome, Roman Chamber, and Sculpture Chamber.

If the July weather plays ball, and if there is enough time, you may also get to investigate some parts of the woodlands.

Get hands-on with ghost-hunting equipment such as K2s, EMF Meters, Spirit Boxes, and Dowsing Rods.

You can also participate in paranormal experiments like Ouija boards, table tipping, and pendulums.
