Shaun  Ryder is an English songwriter and singer who is most popular as frontman of Happy Mondays.

He was a leading figure in the Madchester cultural scene during the late 1980s and early 1990s.

In 1993, he formed Black Grape with former Happy Mondays dancer Bez.

The Greater Manchester-born singer is also a cultural icon, and has appeared on numerous television shows including ITV’s I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here, and Channel Four’s Gogglebox.

Annie Spaziano said: “Shaun Ryder and the Manchester indie music scene changed my life, because I visited the Hacienda the night before I was due to fly home to the States after living here in the early 90s and I enjoyed it so much I decided I just had to come back!

“We’re delighted to have booked him to appear here and we’re really proud to be able to offer Derby another event to bring people into the city centre.

“At the same time we are still very much a restaurant at heart and I am sure that we will be looking at creating a special burger to celebrate Shaun’s visit next year.”

It is set to be a busy time for Annie’s Burger Shack who are one of the game-changing hosts of top events in Derby.

As well as the major coup of Shaun Ryder’s gig in 2024, the restaurant is also hosting two upcoming shows from comedians Milton Jones and Joe Pasquale.

Previous gigs include former Fun Lovin’ Criminals frontman Huey Morgan, who performed a DJ set this summer.
