Buxton International Festival star-studded 2024 line-up includes Charles Spencer, Judge Rinder and Clive Myrie

A Derbyshire festival has drawn a starry crowd which includes royalty and celebrities from the worlds of television, publishing and opera.

Buxton International Festival, said to be widely considered one of the best in the UK, will feature Charles Spencer, Rob Rinder, Clive Myrie, Caroline Lucas and more.

Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer will be reading from his memoir A Very Private School, offering his take on the British schooling system.

He will cover the long-lasting impact of experiences from his formative school years, to offer a candid outlook reckoning with his past and a reclamation of his childhood.

He will appear on Saturday July 6, at Buxton Opera House. 

BBC news presenter Clive Myrie will read from his bestselling book Everything Is Everything, which charts his success from Bolton roots to his journey to becoming a household name in media. 

He will appear on Saturday July 20, at Buxton Opera House.

MP Caroline Lucas will talk about her book Another England on Saturday, July 13, and media personality Rob Rinder will take to the stage on Tuesday, July 16.

The festival features a real mix of events, making it perfect for families as there will be something for everyone. 

The summer festival kicks off with an opening weekend of jazz.

The musical feast continues over 21 days where people can experience world-class opera by Orchestra of Opera North, Early Opera Company, and Northern Chamber Orchestra.

The worlds of books and jazz will also be celebrated in the beautiful Peak District.
