Derby County have been out of the Championship for two years after their relegation in the 2021/22 season.
However, they will return in the summer after an excellent year in League One which broke points records and gave Derby their first promotion since 2007.
When the Rams were relegated, they were in a state of turmoil, with many not knowing if the club would continue to exist as the threat of liquidation was serious.
They were relegated on the 18 April 2022 after a hard-fought battle against a seemingly impossible task after they were docked 21 points by the EFL.
Wayne Rooney’s side failed to beat Queen’s Park Rangers at Loftus Road on that day which sent them down in heartbreaking fashion.
But what has happened to the Derby team that played that day?
1. Goalkeeper: Ryan Allsop

2. Left back: Lee Buchanan
Lee Buchanan activated a clause in his contract to leave Derby who didn't get any money for the talented defender. He spent a season in the Bundesliga with Werder Bremen and reunited with Wayne Rooney at Birmingham a season later. He is still at Birmingham who ironically have now been relegated to League One. 3. Centre back: Eiran Cashin
One of only two in this list who is still a Derby player. Cashin has become one of the best young defenders in the EFL and continues to be a fan favourite at Pride Park. | Getty Images
4. Centre back: Curtis Davies
Somewhat of a legend at Derby, Davies was captain and played for Derby for six seasons. The defender moved to Cheltenham Town after leaving Pride Park following one season in League One. He is set to leave Cheltenham this summer. | Getty Images
