Eiran Cashin has previously recieved interest from Brighton and Birmingham City

Derby County star Eiran Cashin has attracted a lot of interest in recent months. The 22 year-old centre back has been a crucial part of the Rams starting XI for three seasons now, but it seems that he's likely to depart in January.

With West Ham, Middlesborough and Burnley showing interest, there are up to six teams that are keen on the Republic of Ireland U21s star. According to TEAMTalk, the three new interested clubs join Brighton, Birmingham City and Sheffield United in pursuit of the defender.

In summer, Brighton almost signed Cashin from the Rams, but the deal fell through on deadline day and Paul Warne's star centre back returned to Pride Park. Brighton are expected to bid again for Cashin amongst these other teams that have also shown interest.

Notably, former Rams boss Wayne Rooney has expressed his interest in signing Cashin for Birmingham City having previously worked with the defender at Pride Park. So far this season, he has made 17 league appearances for the Rams scoring once adding to his 77 appearances for the Rams so far, making him a very mature player at such a young age.

He has been one of the best defenders in League One this season and so it is no surprise that he has attracted Premier League interest. Derby have expressed their intent on offering a new contract to Cashin, however it will be a tricky task to persuade him to stay at Pride Park.
