Five key dates in Derby County's 2024/25 Championship season

Derby County’s fixtures for the 2024/25 season has been released this morning.

Derby County’s fixtures for the 2024/25 season has been released bringing up a number of key dates for Rams’ fans.

The Rams begin the season away from home against Blackburn Rovers and they will end the season at Pride Park against Stoke City in May.

The dates are subject to changing due to TV selection with 46 rounds of games in the Championship across 33 weeks including nine midweek games.

Opening day - Friday 9 August, 8pm vs Blackburn Rovers (A)

The Rams will start with a trip to Blackburn to face former player John Eustace who is currently the manager of Rovers.

The game will be shown live on Sky Sports as Paul Warne and his sides’ campaign begins.

First home game - Saturday 17 August, 3pm vs Middlesbrough (H)

Derby’s first home match will come in their second game of the season against playoff hopefuls Middlesbrough.

Rooney returns to Pride Park - Saturday 9 November, 3pm vs Plymouth Argyle (H)

Wayne Rooney has taken a new job at Plymouth Argyle and so this season will be the first chance for him to return to Pride Park to face his former club.

Rooney played for and managed the Rams and almost kept them up after a 21 point deduction - he will be sure to recieve a good reception from the Pride Park faithful.

Boxing day clash - Thursday 26 December, 3pm vs West Brom (H)

Unlike last season the Rams will play on Boxing Day this year and it will be at home too.

West Brom will visit Pride Park over the Christmas period.

Final day of the season - Saturday 3 May, 3pm vs Stoke City (H)

Just like last year, the Rams’ final game of the season will be at Pride Park. Many memories were made on the last day in League One.

Paul Warne will be hoping for more of the same against Stoke in the Championship.
