There was interest in both players during the summer transfer window

Derby County are set to offer new contracts to both Max Bird and Eiran Cashin before the January transfer window.

Eiran Cashin, 22, was set to join Brighton in the summer before the deal fell through on transfer deadline day, they are reportedly still interested in the star centre back.

Midfielder Max Bird drew interest from Championship club Hull City who made multiple bids for him. They could well swoop in for the 23 year-old in January.

Speaking to BBC Radio Derby about the links, Derby boss Paul Warne said: "I'm not disputing it's a concern.

"No-one wants to lose their best, most consistent players."

Both Cashin and Bird have been a big part of Derby's squad for well over two seasons now. They have both featured in every league game this season barring a brief injury to Max Bird and will continue to shine in Paul Warne's side.

The Derby boss was hopeful that his two star players would remain at Pride Park, he added:"I don't want to lose them, but it would be naive of me to say that there isn't always a potential of losing them." The club aims to keep them around. When Warne was asked about the two getting new deals, he added: "Why wouldn't they be offered a new deal? It is the time prior to January to try to convince them to sign."

Max Bird has 150 appearances for Derby whilst Eiran Cashin has over 75 outings.
