Derby County’s season is close to coming to an end. The Rams are locked in a promotion race now, but it won’t be long before they begin looking towards next season.
Paul Warne currently has a pool of 15 players whose contracts are set to expire at the end of the season.
He may decide that some of them have warranted a new deal, but there will also be some departures.
Experienced veterans, goalscoring stars and young midfielders...these are the 15 players that could be leaving Pride Park in the summer.
1. Max Bird
Max Bird is now technically on a loan contract at Derby after Bristol City signed the striker in January. His loan period will be up at the end of the season and the former academy product will officially move on from Pride Park. Photo: Shaun Botterill
2. Louie Sibley
Despite only being 22 years-old, Louie Sibley now has a lot of first team experience for the Rams. It is likely that the midfielder will sign a new deal in the summer because his transfer value is significant enough so that the club wouldn't want to allow him to leave for free.
3. Joe Wildsmith
Joe Wildsmith has been Paul Warne's first choice shot stopper since they both joined at the start of last season. He has been excellent over his first two years at Pride Park and it would be expected that Wildsmith will stay at Derby following a contract extension in summer.
4. Tyreece John-Jules
Tyreece John-Jules joined Derby on loan from Arsenal at the start of the season. He has returned to the Emirates as he is recovering from injury and so may not play for Derby again, unless Paul Warne decides to bring him back which the Derby boss could do as he's a massive fan of the young striker.
