Derby County’s newest transfer target has come in the form of St Johnstone striker Adama Sidibeh.

The 25 year-old has also attracted interest from Championship rivals Middlesbrough and Burnely and so the Rams may need to enter with a generous offer for the attacker.

According to Football Insider, the three clubs are all plotting bids for the striker who has had a very fast rise to stardom in recent years.

He signed for St Johnstone from non-league Warrington Rylands in February, but has since made 15 appearances, scoring five goals and becoming somewhat of a star for the Scottish side.

The Gambian international is under contract until 2026 meaning that St Johnstone may be reluctant to sell him easily this summer.

He became a hero for St Johnstone as his goals helped them to Scottish Premiership survival, as three of his goals came in the last three games of the season.

It is unusual to see such a fast rise in reputation as he was playing non-league football just four months ago, and now Sidibeh has interest from three big Championship clubs.

His displays at St Johnstone also haven’t gone unnoticed in Europe as French Ligue 1 side Metz FC have also expressed their interest in the striker.

With the amount of transfer interest that Sidibeh has gained in such a short space of time, the future could look very bright for the 25 year-old.

Derby are in need of a striker as they currently only have Conor Washington under contract. Negotiations are ongoing to keep James Collins at the club, but both of those are the wrong side of 30 and Paul Warne will be desperate to add more long-term options at the position this summer.

Sidibeh could prove to be one of those options.
