Derby County eyeing up Euro 2024 man and former Premier League shotstopper

While he hasn't played in the league this season, he enjoyed a penalty shootout success against Spurs in the Carabao Cup. The Reds will be without any back-up to Alisson if both Adrián and Kelleher leave, so a free signing certainly wouldn't hurt. While he hasn't played in the league this season, he enjoyed a penalty shootout success against Spurs in the Carabao Cup. Marek Rodak is a free agent this summer and the Rams could sign him as a Joe Wildsmith replacement

Derby County are in need of a number of positions before the new season begins, one of those being the goalkeeper.

Joe Wildsmith did not sign a new deal at Pride Park and so Paul Warne will be looking for a replacement.

One name that has sprung up is former Fulham goalkeeper Marek Rodak who is a free agent this summer.

The 27 year-old is currently away in Germany with the Slovakia side at Euro 2024, but currently has no club to return to.

Rodak has been linked with a move to Pride Park after having made 93 appearances for Fulham including 38 clean sheets.

He also played under Paul Warne at Rotherham United back in 2019 which could provide more pull to bring him to Derby County.

It has been reported that Birmingham City are also interested in the keeper, however due to Derby being in the Championship and the Blues in League One, it would seem that the Rams have much more pulling power.

He currently has 22 caps for Slovakia but wasn’t picked in their opening group game against Belgium due to Newcastle keeper Martin Dubravka currently holding the number one shirt.

As things stand, Derby only have one goalkeeper under contract in Josh Vickers after Wildsmith and veteran Scott Loach left this summer.

Rodak would be a clear number one for Paul Warne if he was to sign and is well capable of playing to a high standard in the Championship.

However, due to his inclusion in Euro 2024, a deal may not get done until he returns from Germany.
