With that in mind, here are three strikers that the Rams could bring in before Thursday's transfer deadline.
Michael Smith - Sheffield Wednesday

It has been clear that the Rams have been interested in adding Smith since the summer. The 32 year-old played under Paul Warne at Rotherham United and would be able to come in as a reinforcement for the remainder of the season.
It is understood that Derby have made multiple loan bids for Smith with a view to signing him on a short-term agreement to help with their promotion charge.

He had much more success last season in League One when he scored 18 goals. He would be a good short-term option.
Sean Maguire - Carlisle United

Sean Maguire would be another solid option for Paul Warne to target. The 29 year-old former Preston and Coventry striker is currently at League One rivals Carlisle.
Maguire has made 25 apperances this season, scoring just once but his goalscoring ability has been well documented at Championship level in the past.

Not a gamechanger, but Maguire would be able to take the workload off James Collins and provide that extra option that Paul Warne desperatley wants.
Jamie Donley - Tottenham Hotspur

If Paul Warne wanted to go a different route and look at a younger striker, he could turn his eye to Jamie Donley.
Donley, 19, has been a part of Spurs' youth setup for a number of years, this season he has made nine league appearances for the U21s scoring four goals and recording nine assists.

He could move to Pride Park on a loan deal which would both benefit Derby and Spurs as he could provide a new striking option for the Rams and the move could also help his long term development as a striker.
A different option for Paul Warne to consider.
