Maze Runner star drops into tea rooms to enjoy Derbyshire delicacy

The tea rooms are thought to be a celeb and foodie hotspot

An English actor who has starred in numerous films and TV shows including Maze Runner and Game Of Thrones visited Derbyshire for a spot of cream tea. 

Thomas Brodie-Sangster who most famously played Sam, in Love Actually visited The Old Original Bakewell Pudding Shop in Bakewell.

He is thought to be filming near Haddon Hall for the upcoming BBC series Wolf Hall, where he will reprise his role of Rafe Sadler, Cromwell’s chief clerk.

Although there is a section in the tea room cordoned off for celebrities to enjoy their meal in privacy, Brodie-Sangster dined at a table in the middle of the restaurant.

General Manager Amy Dawkins said: “We almost did a double-take when we saw him. Some of us were a bit baffled too.

“He was quite happy and comfortable sitting in the middle of the restaurant.”

Brodie-Sangster was happy to be photographed with at the restaurant where he posed behind the counter with delighted staff.

The star ate a cream tea which included a Bakewell Pudding and scone.  

The tea rooms are a celebrity hotspot, having attracted the likes of chefs Phil Vickery  and Adam Richman, TV stars George and Larry Lamb, and TOWIE star Mark Wright.
