As part of an exciting timetable of events for this year, Padley@YMCA Derbyshire has a fire walk, painting nights and fish and chip quiz nights.

One of its biggest events this season is the comedy night on September 8, 2023 in collaboration with Déda, a dance studio, creative space and charity.

The starry line-up on the night features Terry Alderton who fans may recognise from EastEnders where he played Bianca Jackson’s love interest Terry Spraggan.

He has also toured the world with his acclaimed comedy set and appeared on BBC’s Live At The Apollo, Comedy Road Show and The Stand Up Show.

Also on the line-up is Jack Carrol who was just 14-years-old when he was runner up on the seventh series of Britain’s Got Talent.

He will be joined by Tal Davies who was crowned Best Breakthrough Act at the 2021 Midlands Comedy Awards.

The evening will be hosted by Anthony Williams who is a popular Derbyshire comedian and regular MC at RockCentral Promotions Comedy Clubs.

Sophie-Marie Barriball from Padley@YMCA Derbyshire said: “We have been working with Déda to raise money for those at risk of homelessness, poverty, and hunger in Derby and Derbyshire for our Comedy Night on September 8.

“We could all do with some more laughter at the moment, and this will be a fun event to bring joy to Derby.

“It is brilliant that these great artists are coming together for an important local cause.

“There is always that sense of community at these events that brings the people of Derby together.

“I myself love a good comedy night and I am very excited for this, especially as I watched Jack Carrol when I was younger on Britain’s Got Talent!

“I remember being in stitches when I watched him at home on my sofa, and he was my winner from his first act.

“Terry Alderton is also hilarious, I used to watch him on EastEnders and BBC Live at the Apollo.

“I am also excited for Tal Davies who is a local up-and-coming comedian, it is always great to have some fresh talent.

“If anyone wants to grab some tickets and have a good laugh, please get in touch with us.”
