It is a truth universally acknowledged that books make the world a better place.
Yes that may be a Jane Austen quote from Pride And Prejudice but that doesn’t make it any less true.
Derbyshire has some excellent book events in the coming months.
One such event was Wirksworth Book Festival that took place over the weekend (April 19 - 21, 2024).
DerbyWorld went along to visit this year’s festival that was packed with author signings, read-alongs, writers’ workshops and more.
The book festival coincided with a Saturday market, so people could also indulge in a spot of vintage shopping too.
All that reading and retail therapy is hunger inducing stuff, which is why we were also pleased to see a street food stall selling scrumptious homemade delights.
