Derbyshire is very blessed to be home to some of the most scenic places in the UK.

The Peak District and Derwent Valley are among the country's most gorgeous views.

However, sometimes nothing beats a trip to the seaside.

Unfortunately for us, despite all its beauty, Derbyshire is very much landlocked - and it'll be a few hours before you'll see the sea.

With the weather improving and the upcoming long weekend, it felt like an opportune time to round up five brilliant beaches all within a three-hour drive of Derby.

We've also included a bonus trip that is much closer to home...

Matlock Bath is often dubbed the UK's "landlocked" seaside town due to its popularity as a tourist destination with attractions such as the Heights of Abraham and its proximity to the River Derwent. It offers visitors a taste of seaside charm despite being inland.

While Matlock doesn't have a beach, its riverside areas and recreational spots provide a similar ambiance to coastal towns, making it a delightful destination for those seeking a seaside-like experience without traveling to the coast.
