Half-term is peeking around the corner, which means you could be scratching your head about things to do to keep your little ones entertained.
Speaking about peeking and scratching, how about spending an afternoon supporting a sanctuary and learning more about monkeys?
One way you can spend quality time with the family whilst immersed in nature, is to take a trip to Trentham Monkey Forest.
It being just 45 minutes’ away from Derby city centre is an added bonus which means you don’t have to worry about wasting tonnes of time travelling from A to B.
Thought to be one of the few places in the UK where you can walk amongst the monkeys, Trentham Monkey Forest makes a unique day out.
Following a winter closure, the park is ready to reopen on Saturday, February 10, 2024.

The sanctuary is home to 140 Barbary macaques who freely roam the ancient 60-acre Staffordshire woodland.
Visitors can get to see these amazing animals up close.
Some new arrivals are also expected in the coming months, to deliver cuteness overload too.
It is also an educational experience, as you can watch a park guide feed the monkeys as he imparts fabulous monkey-related facts.
Barbary macaques are highly endangered - the population has decreased by more than 50% in the last three decades and there are now fewer than 8,000 wild Barbary macaques left.
Trentham Monkey Park said: ‘We are proud to protect and support macaques and other primates through the funding of vital conservation projects.’
