Despite some recent bad weather, we think it’s fair to say spring has officially sprung here in Derbyshire.

One of the best things about this time of year is the frequency of Bank Holiday weekends (for you, not for us. News never sleeps!)

1. Kayaking

You will learn the art of paddling, ruddering and turning.

3. Rolls-Royce Heritage Tours

Rolls-Royce is synonymous with the great city of Derby.

You can learn more about this world-class company and its industrious roots by delving into archives at the Rolls-Royce Heritage Trust.

Formed in 1981, you can explore over 100 years’ of history which includes the iconic Spitfire, Hurricane, Mustang, Jumbo Jet, Concorde, Tornado, Dreamliner and more - all that have been powered by Rolls-Royce.

4. Derbyshire winery

Calling all wine buffs or those who just want to explore new tipples, and perhaps a new hobby?

Visit Derbyshire’s newest winery, which could be educational and fun at the same time.

The English Wine Project is a winery is based in the UNESCO World Heritage Site Derwent Valley Mills at Darley Abbey.

You will learn about wine making and indulge in a tutored tasting of acclaimed wines with expert Kieron Atkinson.

Cider will also be tasted, making this a truly inclusive wine tasting like no other.

The cost is £25 per person, groups have a maximum of size of 20.
