It was a packed weekend that saw locals turn out in droves to support independent producers

An artisan market showcasing creators exclusively from Derby and surrounding Derbyshire took place over the weekend (March 16 - 17, 2024).

The market with a twist saw over 60 independent, local producers selling handcrafted, bespoke items that were either all made in Derbyshire, or had a regional connection.

Organisers say the event featured ‘Derby’s very best creators, makers and artists selling truly wonderful things.’

Held at the site of the former central library The Wardwick, customers could browse numerous stalls offering a wide range of beautiful and innovative products.

Hand-crafted candles, fragrances, potted plants, upcycled lamps, vintage jewellery, artwork and fabulous food were on offer.

Speaking to Derby World, David Turner from Derby Uncovered, who organised the event said: "The event went wonderfully.

“We always ensure that all of our exhibitors are exclusively from Derby and Derbyshire, so to see the incredible support shown to them by the public was heart-warming and satisfying."

It is the second Artisan Uncovered event.

The third event is set to be slated in the run-up to Christmas, on Saturday, November 30 - Sunday December 1, 2024. The venue of The Wardwick will remain the same.

Here are a few photos from the event when Derby World went to visit on Saturday, March 16.
