Darren Robinson has made four competitive apperances for Derby County’s first team

Derby County youngster Darren Robinson is well regarded by many in and around the football club.

It seems as though he is going to get rewarded as according to Football Insider, the Rams are in advanced talks with Robinson to sign a new long-term deal.

The 19 year-old’s current deal expires in June and so the club will want to get a deal done sooner rather than later to secure Robinson’s future at the club.

He had made four competitive appearances for Derby in his career so far including once this past season in the EFL Trophy.

Robinson made his debut for the Rams back in 2022 when he was just 17 year-old under Wayne Rooney.

The midfielder could become a big part of Paul Warne’s and Derby’s plans in years to come as he has looked very impressive, especially when given more of a chance such as in pre-season.

Robinson has made 40 appearances for Derby’s successful U21s side, scoring one goal in that time.

He has also had experience in the international ranks as he’s played 11 games for various youth teams in the Northern Ireland setup.

With Max Bird now a Bristol City player, it could be worth looking at Robinson as a long-term rather than immediate replacement should the club get a deal done.
