Derby County earnt promotion for the first time since 2007

This past season has been historic for Derby County, not only because it came at a crucial time in the club’s development under new ownership, but also for their achievements.

The Rams earnt promotion for the first time since 2007 and return to the Championship where they faced a 21 point deduction just two seasons prior.

Paul Warne’s players have been hailed as record-breakers for the club and with such an acomplishment, the Derby boss must feel a lot of pride for himself, his staff and his players.

But which records have the Rams broken this season?

Most League wins - 28 in 46 games

The Rams have equalled their most successful season in terms of league wins on 28 all season. This was only matched by the 1955/56 season in the third tier also.

Most points in a season - 92

Derby also broke their points record this season after averaging exactly two points per game. Before the season, Paul Warne said that his side needed a two point average to earn promotion and he was bang on.

This tally is significantly higher than the Rams’ second best season in terms of points which was 85 in the 2013/14 season.

Most individual assists in a season - 16

It wasn’t only team records that were broken this season, but Nathaniel Mendez-Laing managed to pick up an individual accolade.

The winger has had more goal involvements this season in League One and so his assist tally was impressive.

No Derby player has had more assists in a season than Mendez-Laing, he beats Craig Bryson’s record of 14 in the 2013/14 season.
